Growing up on a small farm in Illinois, animals were always the heart of my world. When that farm was sold, I felt a piece of myself was missing—until I was finally able to return to my roots and pour my heart into raising a flock again. What started with chickens and breeding goats blossomed into a new passion when I moved to Colorado and discovered the hardy, quiet, and quirky world of quail.
I affectionately call these resilient birds my 'little potatoes.' Beyond their charm, I love the incredible nutrition packed into their beautiful eggs and how they support a self-sufficient lifestyle. Keeping my birds happy, clean, and well-fed isn't just a choice; it’s my way of honoring the life-long dedication to farming that started on that little patch of land back in Illinois.
